Design, review & construction

Architecture Committee

The Committee interprets and applies the Vista Antigua Design and Construction Guidelines and reviews proposed construction and architectural changes.

Vista Antigua is a carefully planned community of single-family homes designed to combine the distinctive colonial architecture of San Miguel de Allende with the comfort, durability, and construction techniques of contemporary homebuilding. Our goal is not to reproduce the past, but to preserve the architectural character of this remarkable city by incorporating appropriate Mexican design features, materials, colors, proportions, façades, courtyards, roofs, doors, windows, and other traditional details into modern homes.

To maintain this character, Vista Antigua has established and enforces architectural design and construction guidelines for all new homes, additions, and exterior alterations. The architectural review process provides oversight from the initial design proposal through construction, helping ensure that approved plans, materials, building methods, and exterior details are followed.

These architectural controls protect the appearance and structural integrity of our community, support the investments of all property owners, and help Vista Antigua contribute positively to the architectural heritage of San Miguel de Allende.
